The CAPHC Board of Directors is delighted to recognize Sheila Jarvis, President & CEO, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Toronto Ontario, as the recipient of the CAPHC 2014 Contribution to Child Health Award.

CAPHC is honored today to recognize Sheila Jarvis for her long-standing commitment, advocacy and leadership for children with disabilities and their families. Sheila is highly respected by her peers and colleagues across the country, as a true pioneer and leader in Family Centred Care. 

Shelia is well known and admired throughout the Canadian healthcare system, serving as Chair of the Board to numerous provincial and national organizations. As we celebrate our Canadian Network of Child and Youth Rehabilitation 10th Anniversary, we must also recognize Sheila as a national champion for childhood rehabilitation and development! 

Under Sheila’s leadership, Holland Bloorview has been transformed into a world-class academic hospital with global reach earning an international reputation for quality, applied research, teaching and an unwavering commitment to client and family centred care.  Throughout her career, Sheila has also fostered tremendous growth and international impact in Autism and Cerebral Palsy. 

Our awardee has been the recipient of numerous prestigious corporate awards including: Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures, Canada’s Top Employer for Young People, Greater Toronto’s Top Employer, and Quality Healthcare Workplace Award.  Sheila also established the Concussion Research Centre, one of the first in the world.
