Inter-professional Conference: T4 Health – Triage, Transport, Transition, Treatment
SickKids 3rd annual Inter-Professional Neonatology T4 Health Conference will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017. The focus will be on neonatal brain health and newborn respiratory care in the community setting at various points in the continuum of care (T4 - Triage, Transport, Treatment and Transition). The day will commence with a keynote address from Dr. Linda de Vries, professor of neonatology and neonatal neurology at the University of Utrecht, and adjunct professor in neonatal neurology at University of California, San Francisco. She has a major interest in developmental disorders of the brain and acquired brain injury in the newborn. The day will consist of a selection of interprofessional breakout sessions offered by a number of local experts.
The closing talk from Dr. Steven Miller, will speak on promoting brain health in the neonate.
New this year, is an optional pre- conference workshop on Sunday, October 22 from 1:00 pm – 5: 00 pm. The focus of the workshop will be neonatal neurology with participation in 4 well-crafted breakout sessions.
Content for both this year’s conference and pre-conference workshop is based on self-assessed community learning needs, feedback from last year’s conference attendees and current new practices in tertiary care. This conference will promote a collaborative practice model of health care that acknowledges the expertise of inter-professional team members who guide evidence-based interventions to support optimal clinical outcomes.
