ANNOUNCEMENT! Winners of the 2017 CAPHC Award for Individual Leadership

On behalf of the CAPHC Board of Directors and the CAPHC Awards Committee we are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 CAPHC Leadership Awards! 

CAPHC Award for Individual Leadership:
Formerly known as the CAPHC Contribution to Child Health Award, the CAPHC Award for Individual Leadership annual award was created to recognize outstanding leadership by an individual who has dedicated their career to making a difference in the health and well-being of children, youth and families in Canada. The award specifically recognizes creativity and initiative to promote positive change and long-term improvement. 

With many worthy candidates to choose from, we are proud to announce that there will be two recipients of the 2017 CAPHC Award(s) for Individual Leadership: 

Dr. Christine Chambers and Dr. Peter Rosenbaum

Dr. Chambers is the Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Children’s Pain and Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychology & Neuroscience (with cross-appointments in Anesthesia, Pain Management & Perioperative Medicine and Psychiatry) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Dr. Rosenbaum is a Professor of Paediatrics at McMaster University, Hamilton; Canada Research Chair in Childhood Disability, and Co-Founder of the CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research.

All of this year’s CAPHC Leadership Award Recipients will be honoured at the annual Awards Luncheon hosted at the 2017 CAPHC Conference, Engaging Children, Youth and Families: Are You Ready to Move Beyond Good Intentions in Montréal, Québec on Tuesday October 24.
