Call for Nominations for 2018 CAPHC Awards!

On behalf of the CAPHC Board of Directors it is my pleasure to open the call for nominations for CAPHC’s 2018 Awards for Individual Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Patient & Family Leadership (New), and Leadership in Media (New).

2018 will mark a very special milestone for CAPHC, our 50th Anniversary! We are launching a number of new changes and additions to honour this achievement, one of which being the addition of two new awards to the CAPHC Awards Program. 

The CAPHC Awards program has been running since 2005 and has served to recognize leaders and champions within the paediatric healthcare community. The program has developed from a single award in 2005 to FOUR awards in 2018!

Descriptions of all four awards are listed below. More information and the nomination packages can be found on the CAPHC Website

The deadline for nominations is July 15, 2018Please submit via email a completed nomination form and detailed letter of nomination to:

We look forward to receiving your nominations and to honouring this year’s awardees at CAPHC’s 50th Anniversary Gala to be held in Edmonton, Alberta, on Monday, October 22, 2018, in conjunction with CAPHC’s 2018 Annual Conference.


The "CAPHC Award for Patient and Family Leadership"
*NEW THIS YEAR*

This award was created to recognize outstanding leadership by a parent or caregiver who has served in a volunteer capacity to improve the patient and family experience for those accessing Paediatric health care in Canada.

This award will be presented to an individual who has exemplified courage, commitment and resilience by donating their time and emotional energy to promote systemic change at a local, regional and/or national level.

 

The "CAPHC Award for Leadership in Media"
*NEW THIS YEAR*

This award was created to recognize outstanding journalism, reporting, editorial or blogging that increases awareness of Canadian paediatric health issues, or the role CAPHC members play to enable the best healthcare for Canada’s children and youth.

 

The “CAPHC Award for Individual Leadership” 

This award was created to recognize outstanding leadership by an individual who has dedicated his or her career to improving the health and well-being of children and youth in Canada through health promotion, policy initiatives and/or increased public awareness.

This award will be presented to an individual who has exemplified leadership, creativity and initiative to promote positive change and long-term improvement for the health and well-being of children and youth.

 

The “CAPHC Award for Organizational Leadership” 

This award recognizes the leadership of an organization, a foundation, or a corporation to enable the best healthcare for Canada’s children and youth. The recipient organization has demonstrated leadership to inspire change and innovation that has had significant and lasting impact on the paediatric healthcare system(s), and/or populations served.

This award also recognizes the value an organization places on partnerships and collaboration within the healthcare community.
